Gibbs St. Duo

"An effort aimed at making change, Gibbs Street Duo make for a very relevant and timeless body of work that's all substance." -Take Effect

The Gibbs Street Duo: Hilary Glen, cello and Sun Min Kim, piano, was formed in June 2020 with the intent to seek out, explore, and introduce music of historically excluded composers to the musical canon. During the height of the pandemic, the duo focused their energy on presenting their ideas through a recording project and through presentations at national conferences and various institutions of higher education around North America. Currently, the Gibbs Street Duo is touring colleges and universities across the country to share this inspiring music with students, professors, aficionados, and other music professionals. Check out the Calendar page for upcoming concerts! Our newly released CD Memories Unsettled can be listened to on your favorite streaming service or purchased Barnes and Noble or Amazon. Check out the details on Navona Records.

Our 2022 concert tour was supported by a New World Symphony BLUE (Build, Learn, Understand, Experiment) Project Alumni Grant and Mentorship Program, which empowers the NWS network of artistic entrepreneurs to redefine the future of classical music through inclusive community and equity-focused initiatives. NWS BLUE Projects are made possible with support from the Maxine and Stuart Frankel Foundation.
